Description
Watchfaces is a mobile application that allows users to purchase, collect, and apply watchfaces for smartwatches. The app simplifies the installation process by enabling direct application of these watchfaces to the watch, eliminating the need for intermediate steps.
Challenge
The main challenge was the complexity of installing watchfaces on smartwatches. Users had to first save the watchface as an image on their phone and then manually transfer it to the watch, which was cumbersome and inefficient.
Solution
A simplified interface was designed to reduce the steps required for installation. Users can now select and apply watchfaces directly from the app to their watch, removing the need for intermediate steps.

The Design

Due to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and confidentiality requirements, I am unable to share the final design of the this project. This restriction is in place to protect proprietary information and comply with contractual obligations. The summary provided details my personal contributions and involvement in the project up to the design phase.

-
The app allows users to browse collections of watchfaces for purchase, view their saved watchfaces, and access free options.
-
To install a watchface, users simply need to click “buy” if they do not own it and pay, or “Set Watchface” if it’s free or already part of the user's collection. The watchface is immediately applied to the watch.
-
The interface is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, minimizing the steps needed to apply a watchface.
Key Features
-
Easy Customization: Provides a quick and simple way for users to personalize their smartwatches.
-
Variety of Watchfaces: Offers access to a wide range of watchfaces with licenses from popular brands such as Netflix, Disney, and sports teams.
-
Premium Subscription: A premium subscription option gives access to exclusive content and a broader selection of licensed watchfaces.
Conclusions
Through this project, I learned to manage licenses and maintain the integrity of licensed images. I also realized the importance of keeping the application as simple as possible to ensure ease of use for users from any country.
The installation process for watchfaces became significantly easier. The new functionality has improved the user experience by reducing the number of steps required.
